Looking for a walkthrough?

Browse Guides for step-by-step articles on income, calendars, payments, timers, privacy, and sync.

A total looks wrong

Open the income source and check its rate model, active dates, schedule, working hours, and breaks. Then check the Calendar for a forced workday, nonworking day, paid leave, or half day. For additional income, verify the payment status, allocation, and whether it is included in the forecast. On Dashboard, check the selected day, week, month, or year before comparing totals.

Find a day, payment, or work session

Dashboard switches between day, week, month, and year views, with income and time insights for the selected period. In Calendar, choose a source or All Sources and select a day to see its income, payments, and notes in the inspector. Payments and Timer keep date-grouped histories: choose the last 7, 30, or 90 days, or All Time, then combine the relevant filters.

Are the time-tracking tools Free?

Stopwatch, manual time entries, Pomodoro, and every Timer control are Free. Pro expands MonthMade to additional income sources and optional private iCloud Sync.

Does tracked time change income?

Saved work or focus sessions linked to hourly sources can be marked Billable. Their earnings add to scheduled income; turn Working Hours off for the source if only billable sessions should count. Other sessions remain time records, and sessions never create payments. See the time-tracking guide for the steps.

Change language or number formats

Open Settings → General to choose language, currency, time zone, and date, time, and money formats. Money defaults to Auto, with twelve explicit styles available. These preferences belong to your local dataset and are included when you opt in to iCloud Sync; macOS permissions and sync consent stay specific to each Mac.

Pro is not recognized

Confirm that the Mac App Store is signed in with the Apple Account used for the purchase, then choose Restore Purchases on MonthMade’s Pro page. Monthly and Lifetime purchases unlock the same Pro features. Apple controls Monthly trial eligibility; the Lifetime trial lasts 14 days from its original activation. Restoring does not restart either trial. Restoring purchases does not restore or enable iCloud data.

Start or finish a Pro trial

Open Pro and choose Monthly or Lifetime. When available, Try for Free begins a 14-day Monthly trial for eligible Apple Accounts; it automatically charges $2.99/month in the US afterwards unless cancelled in the App Store before the trial ends. Without trial eligibility, Monthly shows a paid subscription. Lifetime opens a choice: try 14 days free if eligible, with no automatic charge, or buy now at the current App Store price. After the Lifetime trial, confirm a purchase separately or stay on Free. Existing data remains readable, editable, and exportable. See Pricing for the Early Bird offer and local-price details.

iCloud is not syncing

Private iCloud Sync is optional. Enabling it requires Pro. Check that iCloud is available for your Apple Account, that MonthMade is allowed to use it, and that sync is enabled inside the app. Your local data remains the starting point while sync is unavailable.

Values are hidden

Turn on Auto Privacy in Settings → Privacy. The switch works immediately without Screen Recording or Accessibility permission or a restart. MonthMade checks local screen-capture and display-mirroring state without reading your screen or audio. Detection is best effort and some sharing may be missed. Show Values, Amounts, or Percentages reveal values only until the current detection ends; manual Hidden is always available.

Export data

Use Settings in MonthMade to create a complete export. Exports are not redacted by the current privacy mode and can contain settings, income, schedules, payments, complete time history, and Pomodoro presets, so treat them as sensitive.

Delete or reset data

Deletion and reset controls stay available on every plan. Reset All Data replaces the working dataset with fresh state, removes the logical backup and active-timer checkpoint, and keeps app settings. If iCloud Sync is enabled, reset first requests deletion of MonthMade’s private CloudKit zone, then disables sync. Run reset before deleting the app when cloud cleanup is required: deleting the app alone may leave its local container, private CloudKit zone, or user-selected exports, and exports are never removed automatically.

Downloads and updates

Download MonthMade from the Mac App Store. To keep it up to date, enable automatic updates in App Store settings or open the Updates page in the App Store. See Release Notes for the changes in each version.
