Hide values manually
Open Menu Bar in the sidebar and use its display control to choose Hidden. Manual Hidden is available independently of Auto Privacy, so you can conceal amounts before a call or while working in a shared space.
Return to amounts or percentages when you want to reveal them. Check the actual display before presenting; manual control is useful when you need to make that choice yourself.
Configure Auto Privacy
- Open Settings → Privacy.
- Turn on Auto Privacy.
- Choose whether it should hide amounts, or hide amounts and temporarily remove MonthMade from the menu bar.
- Review the display when screen sharing or mirroring starts.
Auto Privacy uses local capture and display-mirroring state. It does not read your screen or audio and does not require Screen Recording or Accessibility permission.
Understand a temporary reveal
While automatic privacy is active, Show Values, Amounts, or Percentages can reveal values until the current detection ends. That temporary choice is separate from disabling Auto Privacy in Settings.
If amounts unexpectedly remain hidden, check both the manual display choice and whether automatic privacy is active. Both controls remain available in Free.
Separate display privacy from data storage
Hiding an amount changes its presentation; it does not remove the underlying record. A complete export still contains original values, even while the app is in Hidden mode.
MonthMade stores your work locally. Private iCloud Sync is optional and requires Pro. Read the privacy policy for the app and website data practices, and use the export guide when making a copy of your records.
